4. In fact there are around 5,000 places of interest viewable within the App including Edinburgh Castle, the Pentland Hills, North Berwick Law and Bass Rock.
5. This version, for Edinburgh and the Lothians, Scotland, locates places in and around Edinburgh City Centre, the wider Edinburgh Area and the Pentland Hills.
6. And you can experience a taste of Edinburgh without being there because the App includes the option to simulate being in several places in the region, which can be accessed from the start up launch menu when out of the region.
7. It reaches a rectangle stretching to North Berwick at its northern most edge, east past Dunbar, west past Whitburn and south past West Linton.
8. Once downloaded no wi-fi or cellular network is necessary, so you can use when out and about in Edinburgh, even when there is no or poor signal coverage.
