  • Annoying

    By chan1232
Claims to be able to watch abroad, however I’m in Dubai and can’t access any programs
  • They don't care about the user

    By Stretton2
All these updates are just for their own use to control and spy on their users. They're not at all trying to make it better for us.
  • Outdated player. Get with it BBC!

    By Superfandango
I don't use this very often, I'd rather stream or download by other means watching on other players due to the lack of functions on iplayer, such as simple 10 to 30 second back/forward, slow down or speed up playback. Iplayer to use is frustrating but was ok back in 2007... it's zzzz
  • Why force the update?

    By Kathypinnage
Such an irritating app - I'm trying to watch pre-downloaded programmes on the move, not on WiFi, and then FORCED to update the app RIGHT NOW and can't watch anything until the update is done! Hardly practical when underground or away from wifi on holiday! Just let me leave it be until later, for goodness sake - it works fine as it is!!!!
  • IPlayer

    By gydhn
Think the existing iPlayer excellent in every way . Why would you change something that works so well ! !!! Still can’t believe it’s going to be made redundant . I’m not a Luddite ... but v depressed to see wonderful bbc radio access self destruct by degrees . Have absolutely no desire to move to sounds .. which effectively what is going on here by drip feed .
  • Can’t download

    By Teeks84
Have not been able to download for months. Apparently you are aware of this problem on iPads so could you please fix it!
  • Not entirely sure how the bbc have got this so wrong

    By Garfield LeChat
You have armies of UI and UX experts. You literally invented modern usability. You have compatibility standards which dwarf most modern town libraries. Why on earth have you tossed them all out for the interface of this dire app? Why can you not use you phones data to watch things or download? That’s not a user choice the app should remove this isn’t the early days of dial up. Why when on a train using a proxy via its internal WiFi can you not download because unlike every other video which uses user location via GPS in the phones api does yours determine from ip end points. Which as a vast majority of internet connections terminate in the USA means the app thinks that a train in Kent is outside the UK!! Why can it not download and play videos at the same time? Why is there no skip forward or back without scrubbing? Why if you pause the video switch out of the app then switch back can it take up to 2 minutes to continue playing? On the latest high end phone? Did you get a work experience person on a ½ day hackathon who was there to learn about how to clean the office lifts to program this? A child of 5 can write a better video player in node on a raspberry pi. It’s worse than if it was written in jquery. It’s genuinely awful.
  • Why won't it let me sign up

    By Sylveon whisperer
I keep on pressing sign up but ut comes up witb a black screen tgen kicks me off the app please fix this for a four star review also WHY DO YOH NEED TO SIGN UO TO BASICALLY WATCH TELIVISON
  • Don’t write this app off just yet.

    By Trebormint88
Yes the new bbc sounds app looks cool, but it’s not a patch off this iPlayer app. This app works well on mobile and Wi-fi connections, its feature rich and refined over the years without big changes. I’ve used this for as long as I can remember and never had a single problem with it. Bluetooth speakers, headphones, chromecast audio, sleep mode, episode downloading, my radio presenter favourites. Does everything I need and more.
